Well known 1950s and 60s railway photographer also had a love of road steam and this book contains some of his black & white photographs of the majestic and magnificent road steam engines used by travelling showmen for many years up to the 1950s. The Showman's Road Locomotive was the prettiest (if that's the right word!) of all the genre, and many survive today and are loving cared for, their large amounts of brass always brightly polished. Many of those pictured are seen in their preservation years and show the love and attention given by their owners.
